The Lord Howe Island Board (LHIB) is responsible for the care, control and management of the LHIG in accordance with the Lord Howe Island Act 1953. Lord Howe Island is a World Heritage Area with global environmental significance with an international obligation to effectively manage the substantial world-renowned natural values of the Island. The LHIB manages all moorings within the LHIG under Part 7, Sections 95 - 99 of the Lord Howe Island Regulation 2004.
